Interested in part-time work for the 2009-2010 school year? The GA is hiring a new Chief of Staff to the President and Campus Affairs Vice President of the Graduate Assembly. This job focuses on coordinating ongoing Graduate Assembly affairs and enhancing the work output of the Presidential and Vice Presidential offices. Responsibilities
- Coordinating with web master to keep website up to date
- Maintaining committee database
- Coordinate the appointments of Grad students to Senate and campus committees
- Fill in/serve on committees as needed
- Attend Delegates’ meeting, Executive Board meeting (take notes when asked) and Campus Affairs (take notes when asked) meeting as well as other meetings.
- Maintain meetings calendar and schedule/coordinate meetings when needed
- Receive and format resolutions
- Collect Executive board report for Delegates’ meeting
- See to it that Delegates’ meeting materials are posted online one week before Delegates’ meeting
- Maintain and update GA document archive
- Assist in creation of official GA Documents, such as MOUs, memos, letters, agendas and mailings to delegates (Including fact checking, proof reading and content generation.)
- Creation of Delegate’s Meeting packets
- Assist Executive Assistant in running the delegates meetings (setting up and cleaning up at each delegates meeting)
Qualifications
- Must be available every Thursday evening between 4:00pm and 9:00pm
- Must be available for Campus affairs meeting and Executive board meeting and Delegates’ meeting
- Responsive to email by next business day
- Must have demonstrated skill at writing memos
- UCB grad student preferred, UCB student required
- Genuine interest in graduate student issues
- Must have very flexible schedule which affords availability to attend meetings on short notice
- Must be knowledgeable of University of California and Berkeley administrative structure
